| Our Perspective of Promoting Regional Collaboration |
With the aim of contributing to the activation of local regions, the Hokkaido University of Education has addressed the promotion of regional collaboration by meeting the needs in regions through providing human, material, academic resources that the university possesses. Especially, the university has been striving to collaborate with local regions so that we can enhance the reliability in regions and nurture human resources society can rely on by contributing to enriching and developing academic education and lifelong learning from the standpoint of education in local regions. In November, 2005, the Charter of the Hokkaido University of Education was established, and “social goals” was stipulated in it as one of our objectives as follows:
- To provide the public with information useful for local communities along with learning opportunities as the educational base for the promotion, learning, and creation of the culture in Hokkaido.
- To produce trustworthy teachers and human resources for local communities and to bring into view the international trends of society, contributing to human happiness by collaborating with universities and institutions both at home and abroad.
The Hokkaido University of Education has been determined to keep working in order to fulfill our objectives related to social contribution stipulated in the university charter, while thinking highly of the current perspective of collaboration with and contribution to local regions.
