General Outline of Specialization
The core of this particular specialization is composed of education theory, education psychology and education for disabled children, which aims for research in the theoretical and practical investigation into the various issues of school education as well as the development of a high level of specialized abilities to research the basic issues that relate to human development in today’s world from a wide range of perspective including lifelong learning, social education and welfare education. Moreover, this specialization aims to conduct research and investigation into issues that relate to the various educational environments in Hokkaido, such as ethnic issues, education in remote areas and multi-grade education as well as pave ways for the possible theoretical investigation into specific issues that relate to the educational supervision and practice of each curriculum.
This specialization aims to develop a high level of specialized abilities that relate to the theory and practice of Japanese education grounded on the thorough specialized research on Japanese education, Japanese linguistics, Japanese literature, classical Chinese literature and calligraphy. Moreover, it is possible to develop specialized abilities in teaching Japanese as a second language that adapt to the internationalization of education.
This specialization deepens the specialized research in the various fields of sociology including social studies education, history, geography, legal studies, political science, sociology, economics, philosophy and ethics as well as aims to develop a high level of specialized abilities in the theoretical and practical investigation concerning the organic relationship between the above research fields and social studies education.
In this specialization, students will be able to thoroughly investigate the theoretical and practical issues concerning mathematics education as well as heighten one’s specialized abilities in mathematics through the research in mathematics education, algebra, geometry and analysis.
In this specialization, students will be able to thoroughly investigate the theoretical and practical issues concerning natural sciences education as well as deepen the specialized research in science education, physics, chemistry, biology and geology. Also, the aim of this specialization is to develop a high level of supervising abilities through the integration of the relationship between each specialized contents including the perspective of Hokkaido’s unique natural environment as well as adapt to the rapid progress in natural sciences.
This specialization aims to conduct specialized research and education which form the foundation of research in music education, vocal music, composing and conducting, musical instruments and musical theory as well as the development of a high level of theoretical and practical abilities in music education by combining specialized abilities with music supervision in schools and local and regional society.
This specialization aims to develop a high level of theoretical and practical abilities that relate to fine arts education and creative work at schools and local and regional society as well as investigate the contemporary and future challenges of the essence of fine arts through the research in fine arts education, drawing and painting, sculpting, design, industrial arts, fine arts theory and art history.
The aim of this specialization is to develop supervising abilities in physical education, sports and health in schools and local and regional society in combination with high level of specialization as well as a high level of specialized abilities that can adapt to the physical and mental health problems through the comprehensive development in research in each field of health and physical education, physical education theory, kinesiology and school health care.
This specialization aims to develop a high level of theoretical and practical abilities of technology education by investigating the essential relationship between human and technology and deepening specialized research in technology education, electricity, machinery, wood processing, horticulture and information technology.
This specialization aims to develop a high level of specialized abilities in home economic education by thoroughly investigating various issues in daily lives of human especially those that surround our home through specialized research concerning home economics education, food science, clothing science and general housekeeping.
This specialization aims to develop a high level of specialized abilities in English education that takes into consideration the internationalization era by deepening research in various issues concerning English and English education based on the achievements of theoretical and practical research in English education, English linguistics and English and American literature.
This specialization thoroughly investigates the theoretical and practical issues of health care and nursing education by deepening specialized research in each field including health science, medicine and nursing and physical and mental counseling as well as develops a high level of specialized abilities that can adapt to mental and physical health problems, manage a nursing station at school and improve the health care and nursing education in combination with a high level of specialization.
This specialization aims to develop a high level of specialized abilities to promote an effective educational clinical approach to challenges in school education concerning supervision assistance for the growth development of young students and adapting to special educational needs, bullying and absence from school mainly for current elementary, junior high school and high school teachers and mature students.
