| Goals of HUE |
- To educate students to be teachers with mental richness, wide range of knowledge, sound intelligence, and excellent professional skills, so that they are able to address the various current issues that they encounter in school and also to develop the teaching practice in consideration of the local characteristics of Hokkaido.
- To promote modern interdisciplinary studies on the dignity of human beings and local communities and to educate students to be local human resources who are able to meet the various needs of contemporary local communities, by enhancing their skills and knowledge in arts and sports and encouraging cultural activities.
- To develop a student-centered learning environment, promote interaction among students, and provide systematic support for the career development and improvement of students’ school lives.
- To assimilate and deepen theoretical and practical researches in every field, including educational sciences.
- To explore more advanced and complex issues of our time and promote advanced, interdisciplinary researches.
- To provide the public with information useful for local communities along with learning opportunities as the educational base for the promotion, learning, and creation of the culture in Hokkaido.
- To produce trustworthy teachers and human resources for local communities and to bring into view the international trends of society, contributing to human happiness by collaborating with universities and institutions both at home and abroad.
