The 1st Pacific-rim Conference on Education

— Emergent Issues and Challenges in Education

Overview

This international conference is designed to address issues and challenges that the developing and developed countries face in the age of globalization. Because we live in an interconnected and interdependent world, we cannot pursue only our own national interests. It is essential that educators throughout the world share ideas for improving learning conditions, instructional strategies, teacher education and improving the quality of life for everyone. Papers and panel sessions that deal with challenges and responses to the emergent issues in education are most appropriate for this conference. Conference will be of interest to researchers, administrators, policy makers and practitioners who are committed to improving education. Proposals for the conference will be invited from those interested in sharing ideas about innovative approaches to emergent issues in education. It is hoped that the problems and solutions found in particular contexts can be shared and be used to generate new ways of thinking about them in other contexts. The two-day conference will be held on October 21 and 22, 2006, in Sapporo, Japan. «
